I have been documenting prides (first in Montreal I have been documenting prides (first in Montreal via Diverscite and then in Toronto with the larger fundraiser and outdoor event at @greenspaceto Festival Toronto ) for almost two decades (yes know I am getting old).
I keep on being asked: “Why as a straight male, do I fight (I have stopped multiple gay bashing by placing my face in front of the haters, more time then I can remember), work and willing to stand with something I am not.”
And well I think after all these years I got a simple none political, but more human answer.
How I see sexual orientation is the simple connection of how people are attracted to each other.
That as individuals we should refrain from human loneliness, especially in a world with so many marvellous and beautiful humans.
That the most fundamental need to be with another person and express that love not only as mental and emotional basis, but also as physically and sexually.
Together, it is the most beautiful experiences any human being can have, and no one has the right to prevent an individual in feeling that love.
I do not care, who you fall in love with, I just be there to celebrate it.
See you soon @the519 .
